HDTV Supply is seeking an experienced, Q-SYS-certified AV professional to work remotely on a flexible, part-time basis. This position is ideal for an experienced Q-SYS programmer, AV systems engineer, or independent consultant interested in ongoing project-based work.
About HDTV Supply
HDTV Supply is an established professional audio-video equipment supplier serving commercial AV integrators, businesses, schools, government agencies, hospitality facilities, houses of worship, and residential AV professionals throughout the United States.
Position Responsibilities
The selected individual will assist HDTV Supply and its customers with:
- Designing Q-SYS audio, video, and control systems
- Creating and modifying Q-SYS Designer files
- Selecting Q-SYS processors, I/O devices, amplifiers, cameras, touchscreens, and accessories
- Preparing equipment lists, bills of materials, system drawings, and technical proposals
- Programming DSP functions, audio routing, control logic, and user-control interfaces
- Developing Lua scripts and integrating third-party equipment when required
- Reviewing customer specifications and determining whether proposed Q-SYS systems are compliant
- Providing remote commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support
- Assisting HDTV Supply’s sales team with technical questions and system quotations
- Documenting completed designs and programming work
- Participating in occasional telephone or video meetings with customers and integrators
Required Qualifications
- Current Q-SYS Level 1 certification
- Q-SYS Level 2 certification
- Hands-on experience using Q-SYS Designer Software
- Experience designing and programming commercial AV systems
- Strong understanding of DSP programming, audio signal flow, networking, control systems, and AV-over-IP
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with customers and sales personnel
- Reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, telephone, and remote-meeting capability
- Authorization to work as an independent contractor in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Q-SYS Control 101 or Control 201 certification
- Experience programming Lua scripts and custom Q-SYS controls
- AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification
- Experience with Q-SYS Core Nano, Core 8 Flex, Core 110f, I/O-8 Flex, NV Series products, Q-SYS cameras, amplifiers, and touchscreens
- Experience with commercial conference rooms, education, government, hospitality, medical, retail, houses of worship, and luxury residential systems
- Knowledge of HDMI matrix switchers, HDBaseT, video walls, AV-over-IP, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and Zoom Rooms
- Experience preparing scopes of work, system drawings, and customer-facing proposals
Work Arrangement
- Fully remote
- Part-time and project-based
- Flexible working hours
- Approximately 10–20 hours per week initially, depending on project volume
- Additional hours may become available
- Independent-contractor relationship
Compensation
Competitive hourly compensation based on Q-SYS certifications, programming ability, and professional AV experience. Expected range: $50–$75 per hour. Highly experienced Control 201-certified programmers may be considered at a higher rate.
