Thank you for buying a cable from HDTV Supply. Here are some ideas and tips to make sure you get the best out of it. 1. If you are planning to install the cable in a wall make sure you check out your total system first to make sure the source device (cable, satellite, DVD player, etc), our cable and your HDTV all work together and are compatible. Just lay the cable on the floor and plug it in both ends to see the picture before you install it in a wall / attic. 2. If you don't see a picture you probably have a set up issue with your source device and your HDTV. Try the following before you call us: a. Take out all other video cables from your source devices as some cable / satellite and DVD devices don't send ANY signal when you have 2 video output cables plugged in. b. Make sure the HDTV is set to the appropriate VIDEO INPUT. c. Some powered HDMI cables have a SOURCE end and a DISPLAY end, make sure they are inserted correctly. d. Your DVI / HDMI equipped HDTV or monitor must be HDCP copy protection compliant (most are but see your manual) as well as your DVI / HDMI equipped source devices or you may not see a picture. e. If you're using a computer monitor with DVI or HDMI it must be HDCP compliant for you to see a picture from a satellite, cable or DVD HDCP compliant device. 3. DVI to HDMI cables and converters don't pass audio as DVI is a video only signal and you have to wire the audio separately. 4. Since an HDMI connector is small many duct-tape it in the connector to hold it in.
